Swimming
Swimming Lessons for Children aged 3 – 17
Our mainstream swimming lessons are designed to give your children that vital life skill of being able to swim confidently.
Our lessons are delivered in small groups to ensure that every child receives the necessary support to enhance their swimming skills.
We follow the Swim England award scheme, and teach in a fun and engaging way. For beginner stages, our teachers are in the water with the children, supporting them as they grow in confidence.
” Fantastic swim school. We’ve been going for over 8 years now since my oldest was 2yrs & I had to don a swim suit to join her in the pool!
We’ve had group baby swim, 1-2-1 lessons, toddler, ducklings, all the way up to advanced lessons for my pre-teen. I have recommended Julie & the team to many families who have also joined.
The smaller classes & teacher to student ratio is a big plus but above all else the teachers are qualified, kind & understanding no matter the kid (and parent) need…. Yes I’ve been ‘that’ parent panicking too! “

How do you deliver swimming lessons?
Our mainstream swimming lessons are for children aged 3 – 14.
We accept 3 year olds, who can be in the pool independently. If parents need to be in the pool with the child, you may want to look at out Toddler swim sessions.
We are both a Swim England accredited swim school and a certified Aqua sensory centre. Our teachers are qualified to the highest level.
Our focus at the beginning is on water confidence and child-led independence, progressing to teacher led development with skills and practices to cover all aquatic disciplines.
How do I book?
Please complete the enquiry form for enquiries for :
- Mainstream
- 1-2-1 sessions
- SEN sessions
One of the team will be in touch to advise if we have any sessions available to suit your requirements or add you to the waitlist. If you don’t hear from us within 1 week, please contact office@swimwell.org.uk
Do you offer trial sessions?
Firstly, if you were to book a trial and love the lesson, we wouldn’t be able to guarantee that a space would be available the following week and this can cause disappointment.
Also, we know that some children will take a couple of weeks to settle into any new activity, so a trial doesn’t always give you a full opportunity to assess the session.
You can join our lessons at any time. Here at Swimwell we are confident that you will love our lessons as much as we do but if, for whatever reason, you decide they aren’t for you, you can leave at any time (refer to our cancellation policy for more information).
How are payments made?
Swimming lessons are paid for through our card subscription service.
When you join you’ll pay upfront for your lessons in your first month. From the 1st of the following month, we will collect an agreed amount from your nominated card.
Once booked, your space is yours until you tell us otherwise. Your lessons will carry forward to one term to the next – so there’s no need to rebook.
There is no minimum contract and you can cancel any time. Please see below for how to cancel.
Are there changing facilities at the pools?
Weston has a single wet room with shower and toilet. Children under the age of 8 may change on poolside. 8 and above are able to use the wet room.
Walton High has male and female group changing rooms. Only children under 8 are to change in the opposite sex changing room. Parents are to only go into their own sex changing room. For children over 8 they may change unsupervised in their own sex changing room. There is a single disabled changing room available too.
Rugeley has a small changing area available.
Is there car parking at the pools?
Walton High has a large car park, whilst our private pools in Weston and Rugeley both have private parking. Details of the private parking are confirmed in an email upon booking.
Do children earn badges?
Yes they do!
We follow the Swim England award scheme and assess on a continuous basis. You are able to access our customer app on your phone, to see your child’s progress.
Once all skills for the next badge are achieved, you will be notified on the app and the badge can be collected at your next lesson.
Each set of badge and certificate is £5.
What happens if I don't want to continue lessons with Swimwell?
You can cancel your lessons at anytime by sending an email to office@swimwell.org.uk. A refund for remaining lessons that month will be given unless you decide to give us a specific date to end.
If you cancel during July and don’t make payment for August, this will be due for payment should you wish to return at any point in the following 12 months.
This is due to how we pro-rata your payments over 12 equal monthly payments for the 39 weeks of lessons.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Should you need to you miss a lesson due to illness, holiday or other commitments, you do not have to let us know.
This class is paid for by you and is your choice to attend. No refund will be given for missed lessons.
What happens if Swimwell cancels a lesson?
In the unfortunate event Swimwell needs to cancel your lessons, you will be offered an alternative lesson.
If you chose not to attend the alternative lesson, no refund is given. If Swimwell cannot provide an alternative lesson, a refund will be issued (see our refund policy for more details).
Can I take photos or videos of my child whilst they are swimming?
No photos or videos are to be taken unless in a 1-2-1 lesson and with the teacher’s permission. This is part of our safeguarding policy.
