STA Certificate Course
STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming is the perfect progression stepping stone for anybody that is 16 and wants to expand their knowledge of teaching swimming to teach non-swimmers through to advanced participants.
This qualification could appeal to swimming teachers who wish to teach advanced participants and advanced swimming skills.
The STA Certificate course is a mixture of practical and theory content.

• Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
• Planning, Delivering, Assessing and Evaluating Swimming Lessons
• Understand a Swimming Teacher’s Role
• Understanding the Health and Safety Requirements for an Aquatic Environment
• Understanding the Scientific and Learning Theories Relevant to Swimming Teaching
• Planning, Delivering, Assessing and Evaluating Competitive Swimming Strokes
• Planning, Delivering and Assessing Advanced Swimming Skills
• Understand the Safety Requirements for Advanced Swimming Skills
• Understand Swimming within Education

Entry Requirements
• Be 16 years of age
• Hold current membership of STA
• Hold the STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming or acceptable equivalent. (Please note a Level 1 Award in Aquatic Teaching / assistant qualification is not an acceptable entry requirement).
