STA Baby and Preschool Course

The STA Level 2 Award in Aquatic Teaching – Baby and Preschool Swimming is for learners that wish to work with babies, preschoolers and their accompanying adults.

This qualification could appeal to:

  • Parents looking for a career that fits in around their childcare commitments
  • Those interested in pursuing a career in the leisure industry
  • Those already employed within a leisure environment who are looking to progress their career
  • A swimming teacher who wish to offer lessons to babies and preschoolers alongside their current beginner classes.

The STA Baby and Preschool Course is a mixture of practical and theory content, the learner will achieve knowledge and understanding of the role of the Baby and Pre- School Swimming Teacher. The course will also give learners hands-on experience of teaching Baby and Pre-School swimming.

• Planning, Teaching, Assessing and Evaluating Baby and Pre-School
• Baby and Pre-School Swimming Teaching

The Assessment

• Practical teaching exam

Entry Requirements

• Be 18 years of age
• Hold current membership of STA
• Hold the STA Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults certificate or acceptable equivalent (must have been completed within the last 3 years).

• 24 contact hours
• Over 3 days
• 7 hours of self-study
